This module introduces the fundamental concepts and components of GIS, and the practical issues to the implementation of a GIS in the workplace, with particular applications relevant to NBS. It also introduces the collection and management of spatial data using ArcGIS and QGIS. During the exercises, trainees will use GPS tools to collect data and perform basic GIS tasks and workflows.
